Northern Ireland
For details of Northern Ireland’s eligibility criteria please visit the Northern Ireland Clinical Research Network (NICRN) website: http://www.nicrn.hscni.net/themednetworks.aspx
The range of potential studies eligible for NICRN support will exceed the capacity of the NICRN to undertake those studies, therefore the NICRN does not support automatic adoption. Instead there is a formal adoption process which ensures that the finite resources of the NICRN are used in a coherent and strategic manner for the benefit of Health and Social Care. Prior to a study being included in the NICRN portfolio, it will have to be assessed against the following criteria:
Scotland
Chief Scientist Office (CSO)
Applying to the Scottish portfolio is done through the R&D office at the relevant Health board. Eligibility criteria and a list of eligible funders to the Scottish portfolio can be found on the CSO website http://www.sehd.scot.nhs.uk/cso/SuppScience/Eligible%20funders/EligFunders.htm. Only projects funded by organisations on the eligibility list should be included in the Data Return. Where a project has more than one funder, the eligible funder must be contributing the greatest proportion of funding for the project as a whole to be included in the return.
If you require any assistance in ascertaining if the funder you are looking for is on the list, please contact an appropriate member of CSO staff. Contact details can be found onthe CSO website: http://www.sehd.scot.nhs.uk/cso/Resources/Contacts/ContIntro.htm
Wales
The eligibility criteria include studies where funding is awarded in open competition across Wales and other devolved nations and is of relevance to NHS and/or social care. The CRC Cymru portfolio group will also consider other high quality peer-reviewed studies, deemed to be important in Wales, for adoption onto the portfolio.
