New Portfolio web pages and factsheet launched: 7 March
A new section of the UKCRN website and accompanying factsheet containing information about the UKCRN Clinical Research Portfolio have been launched today.
The new web pages and factsheet provide general information about which studies are eligible for inclusion, what the benefits of having a study included in the Portfolio are and how to get a study included.
The web pages contain detailed information for Portfolio users on how to search the Portfolio database, information on how to submit accrual data and a range of contact details are provided for Portfolio related enquiries. Links to a series of system user guides and a direct link to the UKCRN Helpdesk are also provided.
The Portfolio factsheet summarises the information on the web pages and is available to download from each web page making it easy to take away for local dissemination.
UKCRN hopes the new pages will provide a ‘first stop’ central point for information relating to the UKCRN Clinical Research Portfolio.
New look Portfolio database launched 1 February 2008
A new-look user friendly version of the UKCRN Portfolio database was launched today. The new look has been designed in response to feedback from colleagues in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales, and particularly users across the Topic Specific, Primary Care and Comprehensive Clinical Research Networks. Changes have mainly focused on providing improved search capabilities.
The portfolios of England (NIHR), Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales can now be viewed and searched separately and are easily accessible by clicking the appropriate icon at the top of the main search page.
The new tool also allows users to search for studies by Chief Investigator, Study Title and now UKCRN Study ID number. In addition, a free text option allows users to search the Research Summary field which summarises the study methodology, objectives and principal question(s). Furthermore, there is now an option to convert and download the results of searches into an Excel spreadsheet making it easier to take information away for local dissemination.
The changes are part of an ongoing process to improve the Portfolio database to meet the rapidly changing needs of Portfolio users.
A detailed UKCRN Portfolio Search User Guide is available here which contains further details. A detailed Search User Guide for Devolved Nations is available here. If you have any questions relating to these changes, please contact the UKCRN Helpdesk.
