Registered CTU Core Capacity Review

The NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRN CC) undertook a project on behalf of the UKCRC to review the core capacity and expertise available in the UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Units.

The objectives of the review were:

To assess the current capacity in terms of geographical distribution and disease/health research area
To assess current capacity in terms of number of trials
To assess the stability of the capacity
To evaluate whether there are likely to be geographical or disease gaps in relation to requirements over the next 3 years
To estimate the capacity needed to support anticipated activity in the UKCRN Clinical Research Portfolio over the next 3 years
