Registered CTU Core Capacity Review

The NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRN CC) undertook a project on behalf of the UKCRC to review the core capacity and expertise available in the UKCRC Registered Clinical Trials Units.

The objectives of the review were: 

  •  To assess the current capacity in terms of geographical distribution and disease/health research area
  • To assess current capacity in terms of number of trials
  • To assess the stability of the capacity
  • To evaluate whether there are likely to be geographical or disease gaps in relation to requirements over the next 3 years
  • To estimate the capacity needed to support anticipated activity in the UKCRN Clinical Research Portfolio over the next 3 years
