Journals and professional organisations

Applied Clinical Trials is a global journal aimed at pharmaceutical and medical professionals who design, initiative, conduct and monitor clinical trials in the tightly regulated, highly competitive pharmaceutical industry. Whilst it is mainly geared towards industry, topics are relevant to all those engaged in clinical research and subscription to the magazine is free.

BARQA's main objective is to assist its members in understanding, interpreting and implementing national and international regulations covering Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

The GCP Journal is a monthly magazine for research professionals. It 'aids awareness, interpretation and implementation of the regulations affecting clinical trials (nationally and internationally)'. A free sample is available on the website.

The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) is a UK-based organisation with European and international representation. ICR produces a monthly journal covering various topics, including ethics, regulatory and GCP discussions. There is also a large focus on training, e-learning and personal development. Members come from various organisations including industry, NHS and Clinical Trials Units.

TOPRA is an organisation for professionals in regulatory affairs. The website is aimed at the pharmaceutical industry however there are some useful links on this site.
