
The work and priorities of the NIHR CRN CC industry liaison team is guided and monitored by a number of external groups, each with representation from the various sectors of the healthcare industries:
UKCRC Industry Road Map Group
This groups provides a focal point for the core NIHR CRN Industry team, the Associate Directors for Industry from each of the Topic Specific Clinical Research Networks, and the Department of Health to work closely with representatives from across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare devices industries.
The group currently meets every 4 to 6 weeks and provides advice and guidance on all aspects of work which both the UKCRC and NIHR CRN are undertaking in building links with the healthcare industry to improve the UK research environment.
Joint NHS R&D Forum-ICR Working with Industry Group
The core NIHR CRN Industry team are also members of the Joint NHS R&D Forum-ICR Working with Industry Group which provides a valuable forum for discussion between representatives from industry, through the involvement of the Institute for Clinical Research, and R&D departments of both acute and primary care Trusts and universities. The group is currently working on the development of a new set of workstreams aimed at enhancing the research environment and the profile of clinical research within NHS Trusts in order to improve the processes through which NHS Trusts and universities establish and conduct research collaborations with the healthcare industry. The group currently meets on a quarterly basis.
