An exciting opportunity has arisen to participate in the activity of this network as a Clinical Trials Officer, which will be based in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Gateshead with prime responsibility for coordinating clinical trials within the locality.
The successful applicant will be educated to graduate level or suitable equivalent, ideally with a background in stroke, neurology or elderly care setting. Experience in implementing / conducting research trials is essential, as are excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team. The post may include travel between hospitals sites therefore applicants must be able to travel across the network.
This post may be subject to a Criminal Records check at Enhanced or Standard level and will be determined on appointment.

This exciting post offers the opportunity to learn more about Stroke research and be part of a successful and developing team. You will be a registered nurse/healthcare professional based at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, working on Stroke Research Studies both within the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and the surrounding community hospitals as required. This may involve conducting research in secondary care, primary care or other healthcare settings.
You will have an understanding of Stroke and have recent experience post registration. You will be performing research procedures according to protocols and will be accountable for the assessment, planning, organisation and ongoing care of research participants. You will coordinate the training of research staff and participate in research design, audit and quality assessment within the Department. You will need to be able to work independently without close supervision. Training will be provided for research specific procedures.
