The IS Team within the NIHR CRN CC have produced a series of users guides to assist individuals using the portfolio database and other applications. Click on the links below to download the guides.



User Guides

The Add / Amend Details of an Existing Study User Guide provides guidance for Portfolio Managers, Study Coordinators, Chief Investigators and Record Administrators on completing an initialised study on the NIHR CRN Portfolio or making changes to a study that has previously been approved and released to the live NIHR CRN Portfolio database. Uploaded on 09 March 2010.

The Contacts Management User Guide (version 1.0) provides guidance for Portfolio Managers, Study Coordinators, Chief Investigators and Record Administrators on managing study contacts for studies on the NIHR CRN Portfolio. Uploaded on 16 December 2009.

The Uploading Recruitment Data: an Accrual Data Contact's User Guide (version 1.0) provides guidance for Accrual Data Contacts on uploading recruitment data for non-commercial studies on the NIHR CRN Portfolio. This guide replaces the NIHR CRN CC Accrual Upload System User Guide (v1.5 Aug 2008), which has been archived. Uploaded on 16 December 2009.

The Uploading Recruitment Data: a Portfolio Manager's User Guide (version 1.0) provides guidance for Portfolio Managers on uploading recruitment data for non-commercial studies on the NIHR CRN Portfolio. This guide replaces the NIHR CRN CC Accrual Upload System User Guide (v1.5 Aug 2008), which has been archived. Uploaded on 16 December 2009.

The My Profile User Guide (version 1.0) provides guidance for new and existing UKCRN Portal account holders on using My Profile to manage your UKCRN Portal account details and request permissions for access to applications within the Enhanced Portfolio Management System.  Uploaded on 05 August 2009.

The People Administration User Guide (version 1.0) provides guidance for Topic and Coordinating Centre administrators on how to create new UKCRN Portal accounts and manage the details and permissions of existing accounts. Uploaded on 05 August 2009.

The Validate Roles User Guide (version 1.0) provides guidance for NIHR Service desk and Topic and Coordinating Centre role validators on validating requests from users for access to the suite of Enhanced Portfolio Management System applications on the UKCRN Portal. Uploaded on 05 August 2009.

The Validate Organisations and Locations User Guide (version 1.0) provides guidance for the NIHR Service Desk and other organisation-location validators on validating new organisations and locations added into the Portfolio system by UKCRN Portal account holders. Uploaded on 05 August 2009.
