From Donation to Innovation
The UKCRC has published a report, From Donation To Innovation: An analysis of health research funded by medium and smaller sized medical research charities. It gives a breakdown of spending by 29 member charities of the Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) on all types of health research across all areas of health and disease in the UK. The analysis was carried out by the UKCRC, in collaboration with the AMRC.

Cooksey Review of UK Health Research Funding
Sir David Cooksey has undertaken a review of the institutional arrangements for the public funding of health research in the UK. The review argues that considerable progress has been made in some areas, notably NHS R&D, in the last few years and sets out recommendations to ensure that publicly funded health research is carried out in the most effective and efficient way, facilitating rapid translation of research findings into health and economic benefits

Better Healthcare Through Partnership: a programme for action
A report by the Healthcare Industries Task Force, an initiative between the government and the healthcare products industry, released in November 2004.

Bioscience 2015: Improving National Health, Increasing National Wealth
A report to Government by the Bioscience, Innovation and Growth Team, released in 2003.

Research for Patient Benefit Working Party: Final Report
The Research for Patient Benefit Working Party was established to address the recommendations made in the BIGT and Academy of Medical Sciences reports. The final report was released in 2004, recommending the establishment of the UK Clinical Research Collaboration.

Strenthening Clinical Research
A report by the Academy of Medical Sciences, released in 2003, which looked at the state of clinical research within the UK.


Department of Health
The Department of Health has produced a series of documents which relate to the work of the UK Clinical Research Network.

"Best Research for Best Health": A new NHS R&D Strategy
"Best Research for Best Health" was launched in January 2005 and it lays out plans for a new NHS R&D Strategy in England.

Guide to Facilitating the Conduct of Commercially Funded Research in the NHS
This guide was produced by the National R&D Costing Initiative in collaboration with the NHS R&D Forum, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, the Institute of Clinical Research and industry representatives. It was released in January 2005.
