Activity Based Funding

Introdution:

The NIHR Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN) funding comprises a fixed (per capita) and flexible (activity based) allocation. Over the last year the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (NIHR CRN CC), with input from a national Activity Based Funding reference group, has been developing a model for activity based funding arrangements to inform NIHR CRN budget allocations. The development of the NIHR CRN activity based funding arrangements is outlined in the information provided below.

2009/10 Activity Based Funding

The National Contingency of £34.7m is available for applications to be submitted by 31 July 2009. the application template is available here to download or alternatively, written proposals are acceptable. 2010/2011 Activity Based Funding

URGENT: The use of accrual as a surrogate for Activity Based Funding will continue. A full 12 months of accrual data will be used for 2010/11 allocations; that period will be 1 October 2008 to 30 September 2009 and all data must be uploaded by 16 October 2009.
