Clinical Director
The Cheshire and Merseyside CLRN Clinical Director is Professor Kenneth Wilson.
Professor Ken Wilson is Head of the Division of Psychiatry in the University of Liverpool. He has held a number of posts within the NHS including Medical Director of a Mental Health Trust and Associate Medical Director responsible for Effective Practice, including research and clinical audit. His own research includes a long standing interest in the epidemiology, phenomenology and management of depression in older people and people with severe physical and social problems. He also has research interests in researching abuse in vulnerable adults and the immunology of delirium. He is a practicing psychiatrist, with speciality recognition in old age psychiatry, general adult psychiatry and psychotherapy. He specialises in the treatment of depression and working with people suffering from dementia. He has played a role in establishing services for people under the age of sixty five. He has contributed towards national guidelines in the treatment of depression, the management of younger people with dementia and reviews of the function of day hospitals for older people with mental health problems. He is a Cochrane reviewer, has worked for the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence and Chaired the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ General and Old Age Specialty Advisory Committee responsible for the training of senior psychiatric trainees in the UK

Zarko Alfirevic is Professor in Fetal and Maternal Medicine at the University of Liverpool and Consultant Obstetrician at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital. He was Clinical Director for Maternity Services at the Liverpool Women's Hospital between 2002 and 2007.
His longstanding academic interest is in 'Evidence Based Medicine' and research related to preterm labour, labour induction and high risk obstetrics. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters with over 50 invitations to lecture at major national and international conferences. He is an International Editor for Cochrane Pregnancy of the Childbirth Group and member of the Editorial team for the international journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Core Team
The Core Team is led by Jacqueline Pirmohamed, Senior Manager. The Lead RM&G Manager is Michelle Mossa. An Information Manager and Administrator are also being appointed.
Executive Group
The day to day operation of the CLRN is supported by an Executive Group, led by the CLRN Clinical Director, which has representation from primary, secondary and tertiary care and mental health. This Group is currently being established.
