NIHR Faculty Implementation Plan updated

The Faculty of the National Institute for Health Research will be for all professionals conducting people based research in and for the NHS. This includes clinical, health services, social and public health research. Its goals are to:

• attract, develop and retain the best research professionals
• enhance the professional status of Faculty Members and foster a common cause of NHS research effort
• support research that meets the needs of patients and the public
• promote academic training paths for healthcare professionals across all health and social care disciplines

The Faculty will be established in April 2007. An updated version of the NIHR Faculty Implementation Plan has now been issued.
