NIHR launches Senior Investigator competition

The competition for the first group of NIHR Senior Investigators is open to NIHR Investigators. Senior Investigators will comprise of the most outstanding leaders of patient and people-based research.

The deadline for the first round of applications is 5.00pm on Tuesday 31 July 2007.

Senior Investigator status acknowledges the essential contribution individuals have made to research and decision-making in health and social care. Researchers from all disciplinary backgrounds who receive NIHR or Department of Health Policy Research Programme funding can apply.

The aim of the NIHR Faculty is to attract, develop and retain the best clinical, health service and public health research professionals, and to value both leaders and collaborators in clinical and applied health and social care research. A priority is enhancing the status of research professionals, ensuring they are engaged in high quality research that benefits the NHS, patients and the public.
