Staff at the West Midlands (South) Comprehensive Local Research Network are today putting on their running shoes to take part in a sponsored run which marks the launch of their Network.
The run will cover 12 miles, with staff running one mile each for each of the 12 NHS organisations within the Network. Money raised during the event will be donated to the Grace Research Fund, a charity set up by Tracy and Simon Hayes in memory of their daughter Grace who was born 14 weeks early at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire.
West Midlands (South) Comprehensive Local Research Network (CLRN) is one of 25 CLRNs established across the county as part of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Comprehensive Clinical Research Network. The Network facilitates clinical research across Coventry, Warwickshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire by providing support for well designed research studies of high scientific value. It supports investigations into chronic conditions such as cancer, diabetes and stroke and studies that are aimed at improving long term patient care.
The launch event will be an opportunity for the general public and local NHS Trust employees to find out more about the Network.
