NIHR Comprehensive Research Network
NIHR Comprehensive Local Research Networks
The UK Clinical Research Network (UKCRN) was established in 2005 with funding from the Department of Health (DH) in England to provide a world-class health service infrastructure to support clinical research in the UK. It initially consisted of a set of Clinical Research Networks, covering six priority areas, together with a Primary Care Research Network (PCRN). The scope of the UKCRN has now extended through the creation of the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Comprehensive Clinical Research Network (CCRN) to encompass all areas of disease and clinical need. The UKCRN Coordinating Centre has the remit to provide the national coordinating function for the NIHR CCRN. The CCRN comprises 25 regional NIHR Comprehensive Local Research Networks (CLRNs) of NHS organisations. CLRNs will provide staff and other associated support to enable clinicians to recruit NHS patients to NIHR Clinical Research Network Portfolio studies and to ensure effective management and governance of these studies. Each CLRN will be led by a Clinical Director and Executive Group, supported by a CLRN Core Team.
The UKCRN Coordinating Centre is now inviting expressions of interest for the CLRN Core Team post of CLRN Industry Manager in a number of CLRNs, as the next stage in NIHR CCRN development. Further information about which CLRNs are recruiting is available here

The Industry Manager will lead on the development and implementation of appropriate local systems to ensure the set-up, co-ordination and management of commercially sponsored clinical trials within the CLRN. They will manage the local interface between investigators, Industry and the UKCRN CCRN Industry team to ensure that the CLRN supports commercial clinical trials in a consistent and reliable manner
These are exciting opportunities for motivated individuals with experience of commercial clinical research to play a key role in this important and dynamic national initiative. Ideal candidates will have knowledge of the commercial trial life cycle, including experience of the set up and performance management of clinical research studies. All posts are full-time, and it is envisaged that post holders will be based at, and employed by, CLRN NHS Host Organisations. The indicative grade for this post is NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 7 (£29,091-£38,352). This grade is subject to AfC ratification within each CLRN.
Expressions of Interest should consist of a current CV and a supporting statement describing your suitability for and interest in the post.
