The UKCRN portfolio of courses is planned and implemented on an annual cycle by the UKCRN Training and Education team. The cycle is split into two phases: phase one - January to June, and phase two - July to December. All courses that run from January to June of a particular year will normally be considered in the June of the previous year (for instance, in June 2007, all courses for January to June 2008 will be considered and then planned). In the second phase, all courses that run from July to December will normally be considered in the November of the previous year (for instance, in November 2007, all courses for July to December 2008 will be considered and then planned).
This is the regular cycle for existing and new courses. Any newly proposed courses can be submitted to the Training and Education team at any time throughout the year (please refer to the UKCRN new course proposal form). New courses will then be considered at the June and November UKCRN Training and Education Working Group meetings for agreement.
The Training and Education team are committed and keen to respond to emerging training needs. If there are training needs that are clearly identified and need considering outside of the annual cycle the team will be flexible and consider such demands on an individual basis. It is envisaged that such flexibility will be essential as the Comprehensive Clinical Research Network is developed. To make an informal suggestion email training@ukcrn.org.uk or contact the Training & Education lead for your network (see the course pages for details).
