Aim
The aim of this course is to provide an understanding of the legal requirements and benefits of the Information Governance principles, regulations and practices in the workplace.
Learning Outcomes
Following the course, participants will:
- Understand the rules, principles and importance of Information Governance, which encompasses in particular the key topics of:
Confidentiality
Data Protection
Information Security
Freedom of Information - Understand the main legal and regulatory provisions
- Understand the organisational requirements for compliance
- Have an awareness of best practice.
Programme The course is structured in the following way:
- Each of the four compulsory modules is a stand alone module
- The modules can be completed in any order
- The learning material is underpinned by using scenarios from the workplace and the delegate is encouraged to consider how the principles could be applied to their own work situation
- Quizzes and challenges are utilised as a knowledge check and can be used to identify knowledge gaps.
Further Information This course builds on the Information Governance Online foundation course materials. Delegates are recommended to progress to the classroom based Information Governance course which covers specific research issues.
