Aims
- To give an overview of the history and outcomes of paediatric research
- To introduce the developmental stages and un-common diseases in children
- To identify the principles of dosages and clinical examination in children.
Learning Outcomes Following the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the history and outcomes of paediatric research
- Identify the concerns and sensitivity surrounding paediatric research
- Define the developmental stages of patients from neonate to adult
- Recognise the importance of dosages in children’s medicine
- Identify uncommon conditions and diseases in children
- Have an awareness of evidence based medicine for children.
Programme The course will cover the following topics:
- The history of paediatric research
- Children vs adults research
- Evidence Based Medicine for paediatrics
- The developmental stages of children
- Uncommon conditions and diseases in children
- Clinical examination and assessment
- Dosages for children’s medicine.
Further Information This course is aimed specifically at those who are relatively new to paediatric clinical research and have little or no knowledge of paediatric research. The day will include a combination of presentations and workshops.

Cancellation Policy UKCRN courses are offered free of charge to all staff and public and patient representatives working on or associated with the UKCRN portfolio of studies.
